Talking Tombstones is our annual fundraising event which has become a staple of the fall entertainment offerings in Hutchinson. Actors, volunteering their time and talents, portray local residents of Hutchinson who have passed away. All of our dearly departed citizens are residents of Eastside Cemetery which is located across from the Hutchinson Correctional Facility on Severance Street.

A special presentation in celebration of our 100th Anniversary, this play was the first ever performed by our organization in 1916. In this staged reading of Euripides’ masterpiece from 415 BCE, the fates of the women of Troy are in peril following the Trojan’s defeat by the Athenian’s. After their city has been sacked, their husbands killed, and their remaining families to be taken away as slaves, the women of Troy must come to terms with the fate that has befallen them.

One of our most beloved productions makes a triumphant return in this one-weekend-only fundraising production for Stage 9. Greater Tuna is the hilarious comedy about Texas’ third smallest town, where the Lion’s Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. Longtime Stage 9 performers, Stephen Mills and Denny Vick reprise their roles as the eclectic band of citizens – men, women, children and animals – that make up this town. This satire on life in rural America is a charming celebration of what makes small towns a timeless fabric of our country.

If you choose to support us with your membership, you can get a variety of different benefits including our quarterly newsletter.  People joining as members who support us at a certain financial threshold also receive tickets to our productions. We are also always taking cash donations to assist with building upkeep, repair, etc.

Businesses who are interested in supporting us are welcome to sponsor productions or purchase program ads in our program.  Additionally, we are always looking for in kind services.  Examples include lumber, dry cleaning, snow removal, building maintenance, etc.

Donations are accepted for our properties and costume supplies.  Building supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies) are always needed.  Additionally, if you have extra gift cards for any place where we could use them (Target, Home Depot, iTunes, etc.), we'd love to talk to you.  If you have items you would like to donate, please contact us at
